A candidate must be a graduate of a Government recognized University to appear for the IAS exam.
One who is in the final year of the degree course and is waiting for the results is also eligible to apply for IAS Exam.
A Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, Medicine, Technology and Engineering are all equally eligible to appear in the IAS Exam.
As of now, the lower UPSC Exam age limit for the IAS exam is 21 years and the upper UPSC Exam age limit is 32 years for the general category candidates.
However, relaxation of the age limit for the IAS Exam is permitted for candidates belonging to the reserved categories.
